Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that challenges traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A strange meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine cult.
The mission concentrates on "peculiar trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to numerous objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This release also brings the game's newest free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
