BF6 BR Mode Arrives This Week as a Free-to-Play Game Mode

Following months of speculation, the BR game type for Battlefield 6 is officially launching. The latest rumors suggesting its release would happen alongside Season 1 were true. Players can jump into the action starting in just a day.

Season 1 Bringing a Fresh Location, Mode, and Guns

Together with the BR release, Season 1 is also kicking off. This brings a brand-new arena, a new mode, and fresh guns. Additionally, Redsec is making its debut. An embedded preview will become available at go-live, giving players a preview of what's to come.

F2P Structure Enables Battle Royale Open to All

Perhaps the most significant announcement is that Battlefield Redsec will be free-to-play. Similar to established offerings, you do not need to buy the original Battlefield 6 to join in. Several players have previously tested pre-release builds of the mode. These tests were run in a testing environment, which the team described as their largest player partnership effort.

The heart-pounding excitement while fighting another squad can't be found in different last-man-standing mode. It's like a true survival situation, and you really mind if you live or perish.
Despite being a snob earlier, I'm completely supportive of the BR mode since trying it.

These early impressions from participants have been extremely encouraging. Of course, the experience may have been adjusted over the past month or two in terms of tuning and pace. But, initial indicators are promising that Redsec could become a true competitor to established offerings. Many are wishing that the most effective firearms from the original Battlefield 6 will be available in the battle royale.
