Netflix Selects Ideal Star for Bentham in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.

The streaming service revealed recently that the talented performer has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Mr. 2. The role possesses the power to morph into an exact copy of any individual they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a interpretation of that figure re-envisioned as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action show, as in the source material and anime.

Escola is joined by several other fresh additions set to bring the group to life, including leader Mr. 0, played by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as the ruler of the fictional land.

Although this character is a important part of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Given the second season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this represents a significant shift in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Their mix of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the part. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is set to return for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
