"Horrendous" Night Poses Serious Risks

A official described the previous night's conditions as "horrendous", with precipitation so severe that around 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the streets.

"These conditions was really horrendous for the residents. The heavy rains were so strong... And the gales were so strong," stated the representative.

Officials express extreme anxiety that minors living in temporary structures in soaked garments will contract hypothermia and various illnesses.

Fatalities and Extensive Destruction

Health authorities have confirmed that one baby has succumbed from exposure and no fewer than 11 other people have lost their lives in roof cave-ins due to the severe weather.

Further statements indicate a increased death toll. Authorities reported that numerous residential buildings had totally fallen and dozens had sustained partial collapse.

  • Nearly 55,000 families impacted by flooding.
  • More than 40 emergency safe spaces severely flooded.
  • Many people compelled to move once more.

Aid Efforts Deemed Not Enough

Groups have increased deliveries of tents, bedding and garments since the halt in hostilities commenced, but they stress there is continues to be not enough aid entering.

"We are striving constantly to deliver that aid and to hand it out, but the size of the necessities is so enormous that we continue to see many thousands of families and children who are really struggling each evening," warned one representative.

Ongoing Challenges and Agreement Provisions

The second phase of the agreement includes arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with political arrangements, the withdrawal of military forces, and other terms.

Humanitarian organizations have underscored the necessity for "increased and sustained aid to address immediate and future requirements."

The hostilities was sparked by an assault in late 2023. Subsequent military operations have resulted in a high number of casualties in the territory, as per health ministry reports.
