Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Gatherings across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s proposed a White House visit for the loved ones of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president told journalists. “And in the same way with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Reaction

Mourners assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist law enforcement in DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” the principal, the head of her former high school, informed the media. “She was kind, caring and always eager to assist people.”

Service plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Measures and Policy Changes

Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident caused the government to suspend asylum applications and halt issuing entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Condition of Wolfe

The airman, a resident of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader the governor said on television.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had courage,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
